Main objective of MES is to involve participation of students in various academic and cultural activities of the department. Through the activities of MES there will be enhanced interaction of students with faculty members. The students will be exposed to personality and skill development through its activities. The MES will organize following activities:


·         Introduction/Welcome function of fresher students and farewell of outgoing students.

·         Farewell of outgoing faculty members

·         Invited lectures of outside and inside experts.

·         Group discussion and debate competition.

·         Cultural/picnic/sports activities.   


·         Publication of departmental magazine










Certificate Distribution Ceremony

The Mechanical Engineering Society organized a certificate distribution ceremony, for the Winners, Coordinators and participants of various technical and non-technical events organized under the banner of the society during session 2015-16.The ceremony was scheduled on 14th June 2016, from 3:00 PM onwards, in the august presence of Principal, Dr. Arabinda Sharma, Head of Mechanical Department Mr. Kanwarpal Singh, faculty advisor Mr. Sunil Baloda and faculty members.
Principal, Dr. Arabinda Sharma and Mr. Sunil Baloda, faculty advisor addressed the gathering; members of the society for the session 2015-16 and the top positions holder for the various events were awarded with appreciation certificate by Principal Dr. Arabinda Sharma.Coordinators of the various events were appreciated with certificates for their efforts and sincere coordination towards the event, and were rewarded by Mr. Kanwarpal Singh.
Participants of the various events were rewarded by faculty member Mr. Vishwas Yadav Assistant Prof. ME Department for their participation and strengthening the different technical events.
Lastly, Mr. Kanwarpal Singh addressed the gathering and motivated the students for participating more and more in such events.



MARCH 5,2016

Mechanical Engineering Department organized an industrial visit for students of 3rd Year on 5th March, 2016. Students visited the STARWIRE India Pvt. Ltd, a reputed industry in the field of manufacturing situated at ballabgarh, Faridabad. Around 47 students of 6th Semester Mechanical Engineering Department along with three faculty members of Mechanical Department visited the industry. We started the journey on 5th of March from BRCM Campus early in the morning. We reached the company at 10:00am after travelling nearly 225 kilometer. We entered the company with permitted gate pass. Students saw all the latest machinery and manufacturing operation for various machine parts. STARWIRE India Pvt. Ltd. company deals with the manufacturing of various automobile vehicles parts and have a good casting and foundry shop. They are also associated with the various research organizations. The managing director  Dr. Subodh Goel is a well known person in the field of corporate world. He is representative of all industries of Faridabad city. He met the faculty coordinator of our college and promise for future visit. Our faculty coordinator gave sincere thanks to all the authorities of company and started  return journey along with students. WE reached the campus at 9:00 pm. 



FEBRUARY 17,2016


An annual intra-department group discussion competition “Confluence-2016” was organized by the Mechanical Engineering Society on 17th February 2016.
Large number of participants strengthened the competition and shared their views on following topics.

  • Intolerance in India, do you think India is intolerant?
  • Ban on Diesel vehicle.
  • Will startup India work smoothly towards success?



The event was adjudicated by Mr. Ajay Mahendru, Assistant Professor, ME Department BRCM-CET and Ms. Manjeet, Assistant Professor, Applied Science and Humanities Department, BRCM-CET.
After a tough competition and many counter discussions, five top positions were decided and the students were Mr. Mayank Dewedi ME 2nd year, Mr. Dhruv Pundir ME 3rd year, Mr. Baljeet singh ME 3rd year, Mr. Karan Sharma ME 3rd year and Mr. Sudeep ME 2nd year.


On this occasion Mr. Kanwarpal Singh Head of Department, and Mr. Sunil Baloda, Faculty advisor, Mechanical Engineering Society said that organizing such events are important to enhance the communication skills, analytical skills and all round development of the students.





SEPTEMBER 11-12, 2015

The Department of Mechanical Engineering under the banner of Mechanical Engineering Society (MES) successfully organized a National Workshop on “Metallurgical Failures” (MF-2015) during September 11-12, 2015. Around 225 delegates from BRCM CET Bahal, GDC Memorial PG College Bahal, MNIT Jaipur, NIT kurukshetra and nearby engineering colleges attended the Workshop.  Shri K P Singh, Former General Manager BHEL Haridwar, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function and Dr. S.K. Sinha, Director BRCM Education Society was Guest of Honor. Dr BC Sharma, Principal presided over the function. Keynote lectures were delivered by experts from BRCM CET, BITS Pilani, MM University Mullana and MNIT Jaipur.


At the inaugural function Dr D B Goel, Emeritus Professor and convener of the workshop gave details of the various technical sessions of MF 2015. He also gave importance of the theme of the workshop in the context of modern technological developments in India. The Chief Guest Shri K P Singh in his inaugural address emphasized the role of various metallurgical parameters in causing failures in metallurgical components.  The guest of honor Dr S K Sinha motivated the delegates to achieve high goals in life.  Principal Dr B C Sharma in his presidential address highlighted the importance of minimizing failures of metallic components and increasing productivity in industrial applications. He also mentioned about the good work being done by the Mechanical Engineering Department, which has been accredited by the NBA for its B Tech program. The Workshop Coordinator Shri Amit Kumar proposed vote of thanks at the conclusion of the inaugural function. The function ended with National Anthem.


The technical sessions of MF 2015 were well attended and technical deliberations were very lively. The first technical lecture was delivered by Dr D B Goel, Professor Emeritus BRCM CET on Cracking- the cause of metal failures. Dr Goel narrated the various mechanisms of formation of cracks during service and in various processing treatments of metal components. Dr RP Mishra of BITS Pilani gave lecture on Modelling and Simulation of cutting tool wear and discussed various modelling techniques for studying tool wear and increasing life of cutting tools. Shri KP Singh, Former General Manager BHEL Haridwar shared his experiences at CFFP, BHEL Haridwar in manufacturing a defect free casting exported to France for scrap compaction. Dr Sanjay panwar Associate Professor, MM University Mullana in his presentation gave details of various failures in metallic components and the experimental studies carried out for investigation of such failures. The technical presentations Ms Vatsala Chaturvedi and Shri Anurag Hamilton of MNIT Jaipur were also highly appreciated by the delegates at MF 2015.
